Strong. Certain. Sovereign.

For the woman who owns her world.

OSA Training: Unleash Your Palm.

EVERY shot counts in self defence

Today’s Training: The Palm That Beats Them All

This is the most powerful strike there is and you’ll own it within 3 days. Today we have some training, tomorrow is either a catch-up or 'rest' day, and the third day is adding some serrriious power to this strike - so you can hit with it SO hard from that day onwards and keep these weapons dangling by your sides for ever!

Today’s four short videos break down the mindset, the mechanics, the execution and power generation.

Sounds like it's a lot of hard work, but you leave that to me. Your job is to just watch and pay attention.

Because this is the skill that could change everything - and it's about to become yours.

Video 1: Why Every Shot Counts.

You’re not a boxer doing 45 minutes sparring.
In self defence, every shot needs to be the one that could get you away to safety.

Video 2: The Palm Heel: Precision, Purpose, Power.

Why this strike works against anyone (even someone wearing a helmet!).
Learn where to hit and what this strike really does inside the body and brain.

Video 3: Strike from The Fence.

Watch the demo then have a go.

Video 4: Hit 'Em Like A Train

Without your piston, you’re leaving too much power behind.

PRACTICE

  • Watch all 4 videos
  • Don't rush it. Learn to do the technique before adding power and/or speed.
  • 1st Practice = 10 strikes each hand (10Right / 10Left) slowly.
  • If you don't have mitts/pads or are practising on your own - Shadowbox with intensity.
  • 2nd Practice = hit with both hands, left and right. Aim for 4-6 shots in one go. Repeat ten times.
  • Stay calm but build speed and power as you improve and feel ready to add it.
  • Once you can hit the basic shot, go back and now add the piston. Repeat with one hand, then both.
  • When competent, now repeat, but this time make sure you are returning to The Fence portion and making it solid and strong every time you finish. This will add even more power to your shots.

Why it matters

In self defence you’re not going to pitter patter or play tag with your training partner. You need to be hitting super hard. Make each and every shot count. Left hand or right - doesn't matter; work them both. You’re there to get out.

In self defence you might not get to choose which hand you're hitting with. In women's self defence the woman is often grabbed at the initial stages, which means there might only be one hand free if the other is grabbed. So make sure either hand can hit really hard because you might only have one that can stop him.
